I was born Sunday 20 August 1876 in Goulburn and grew up in NSW. 22 years later I married Emma in Sydney NSW and we started a family as soon as we could. In a few short years our Family had grown. We now had four sons and two daughters. Soon after Gwendolyn's birth we moved across to New Zealand. In 1911 we were living at 113 Clyde St, Island Bay and I was working as a Mechanic.

By 1914 we had moved to 31 Roy St Wellington South and I was registered on the WWI Reserves Roll in 1917.
In 1923 we were sent to Tokyo to the head office of National Cash Registers where Mother and I witnessed the September 1, Earth Quake which was terribly devastating. We only survived by the good grace of God and I wrote a letter to our Family back in Wellington to ask them to Pray to God thanking him for sparing us amidst the holocaust that was around us.

On my way back home to Wellington we passed through Vancouver on 29 October 1924. About 1936mother and I returned Sydney taking up residence at 5 Dundas St Coogee.
