Alfred Ernest joined the AIF in August 1914.
The spelling of his name caused some issues and duplication within the Military.
The birth Record is OP however correspondence from Alfred's Father clearly shows the spelling as UP.
The military have two different Regiment numbers for Alfred. 1120 and 1157.
Although most of the references are for 1120 Alfred Ernest Jessop - Sergeant his fathers Spelling is Jessup.
His Brother Anthony is also registered as an OP.
